Issn't winter just wonderful

It's been so long since I posted! Happy belated Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

It was a hectic year... but a beautiful one... now here are some pictures of my HONEYMOON!

Balloons and Me

How is everyone's new year! Hope these past 2 weeks were fantastic!

I had my highs and lows. My boy and I went for our pre-wedding photoshoot. Wonder if this is popular in other countries too, here it is quite common, just that the style and locations for shoots vary.

Mine was due for shoot at 3 outdoor locations with 3 dresses! I was so excited. I studied many magazines and sites and thought that balloons are the best props! So my boy and I ordered 15 balloons, 12 pink and white balloons in a bunch, and 3 red heart shaped balloons.

However the weather conditions were not on my side. It poured so heavily after 1 location and we had yet used our balloons. Our photographer was nice enough to take some random shots with balloons (not these you see... I can't get my pics yet). Towards the end our big bunch of balloons flew off before we decided to let it go.

I would be having another shoot cause I am determined to have outdoor shoots. Do help me pray for good weather. :P

A beautiful Wedding and an expanding dress

This weekend was a beautiful one. I witnessed my dear friend marry the love of her life. The reception was at this amazing restaurant, it was open air and next to this beautiful garden.


We even found a couple of beautiful peacocks gracing this memorable occassion!



A is an old friend of mine and boy's. We go back all the way in our uni days. She was my teammate and a great training partner, where we practised hard and went for competitions together. My boy was our senior and trainer... hee... that's how I met him.

All well ends well! I was still worried about the dress before the wedding. It shrunk for 2 inches after wash, though I stretched about 1 inch back after the wash. This amazing crochet dress decided to expand by itself throughout the day of my wear! Now it's back to the original length! (Now I have to mend the few big holes created by my violent stretches...hee)

Wonder if this outfit looks Chanel- ish, cause she is my inspiration! Black and white and layered pearls!

This weekend was the most beautiful, also because it's me and boy's first attendance to a wedding as a married couple. It feels so special just witnessing our dear friend take her vows when she just witnessed us take it a month ago.

Boy and Me (and my DIY dress)

7 years ago we first held hands at East Coast Park, taking our first step into this beautiful relationship.

7 years later on this very same day and same place, we took our oath to love each other for the rest of our lives.

This is the story of boy and me. We met in University, he was my senior in Taekwondo. 1 year after, we decided that we were more than just friends and started the 7 year courtship. When deciding when and where to hold our marriage registration, the answer was quite clear. To hold it at the same date and place where it all started.

So on 090909, it's where we start our drive to new life!


Knowing that I would still have a traditional chinese wedding next year. Almost everything for my outdoor ROM is DIY by me, for I wanted to enjoy the process by getting more involved.

I sent out personalised invitations I made ( you can see from previous posts). I decorated the place with flowers and sashes I bought form Arab street. I bought fresh flowers and made my own bouquet. I bought lollipop and decorated with butterfly clips as wedding favours (can be seen from previous posts too). Most IMPORTANTLY (and INSANELY) I made my own dress and my headpiece.

I started with a base dress (a pure white plain sundress), and sew on chiffon like material and lace. I decorated the bodice with some lace and chiffon scales like pieces. The back of the dress was made to look like some mini terrain, with a slighly longer and flowy piece. The dress is an inspiration I got from something I saw on Etsy with some changes.

I saw many brides on greenweddingshoes having beautiful birdcage headpieces, hence decided to make my own.

All my DIY items were not perfect, but I guess it's the process that I will enjoy and always remember.
